International Workshop on Empirical Software Engineering and Art Smart Contract (ESE & ASC 2025)

Description

This workshop will provide a stimulating forum where researchers and practitioners can present and discuss recent research results on a wide range of topics in the field of empirical software engineering and art smart contracts, in addition to exchanging ideas, experiences, and challenging problems.

Topics

The list of topics includes, but is not limited to:

(1) Empirical Software Engineering
  • Empirical studies using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods
  • Cross- and multi-disciplinary methods and studies
  • Formal experiments and quasi-experiments
  • Case studies, action research, ethnography and field studies
  • Survey research
  • Simulation studies
  • Artifact studies
  • Data mining using statistical and machine learning approaches
  • Secondary and tertiary studies
  • Software verification and validation, including analysis and testing
  • Development, evaluation, and comparison of empirical approaches and methods
  • Infrastructure for conducting empirical studies
  • Techniques and tools for supporting empirical studies
  • Empirically-based decision making
(2) AI for Software Engineering and Art Smart Contract
  • AI (e.g., information retrieval, machine learning and NLP techniques) for Software Engineering Tasks
  • AI for Sciences (e.g., climate, health, life sciences, physics, social sciences, art sciences)
  • Applications of software engineering to different types of systems and domains (e.g. IoT, Industry 4.0, Context-awareness systems, Cyber-physical systems, art sciences systems, art smart contract systems)
  • Engineering of software systems which include machine learning components and data dependencies

Submission

Authors are invited to submit original unpublished research papers as well as industrial practice papers. Simultaneous submissions to other conferences are not permitted. Detailed instructions for electronic paper submission, panel proposals, and review process can be found at QRS submission.

Each submission can have a maximum of ten pages. It should include a title, the name and affiliation of each author, a 300-word abstract, and up to 6 keywords. Shorter version papers (up to six pages) are also allowed.

All papers must conform to the QRS conference proceedings format (PDF | Word DOCX | Latex) and Submission Guideline set in advance by QRS 2025. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper is required to pay the full registration fee and present the paper at the workshop. Submissions must be in PDF format and uploaded to the conference submission site. Arrangements are being made to publish extended version of top-quality papers in selected SCI journals.
